Biography | (1933 – 2012) Born Tucson, Arizona in 1933. Entered US Marine Corps in 1949, discharged in 1952 with rank of Private First Class. Began employment in drywall installation; formed Valenzuela Drywall Company in 1979 and nurtured it to a multi-million dollar business. Volunteer with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for 22 years, serving six years as State Chairman. Member of the Arizona National Guard Adjutant General’s Community Diversity Council. Recipient of Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Provides philanthropic support to the National Guard and Reserve emergency relief and family support programs. Active member Marine Corps League, 162nd Fighter Wing Minutemen Committee, and former Ambassador to the Army Reserve for Arizona. Contributed to retention of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson during the BRAC process. Involved with Tucson YMCA, Pascua Yaqui Tribe Apprenticeship Committee, Habitat for Humanities, and Tucson Airport Authority. |
