| Biography | Born in Phoenix, AZ in 1946, Bill Simon served as Quartermaster, US Army Reserve and Air National Guard, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel in 1997 with 27 years of service. Bill’s civilian career included Vice President of Valley National Bank, Phoenix; and First National Bank, Goodyear. His civic accomplishments include volunteer work as a member of Civitan, Globe; Kiwanis, Litchfield Park; Rotary, Buckeye; and Litchfield Park Historical Society. Bill’s veterans advocacy included supporting veterans as a member of MOAA, Luke Chapter; and The American Legion Post 61, Avondale; and Veteran Subcommitteeman, Arizona America250 Commission. Bill and his military display Desert Warriors group have been active in the Valley, educating hundreds of students and adults. Bill Simon’s lifelong love of military history is embodied in the Lieutenant Frank Luke Junior Memorial Museum and Research Center, Goodyear, AZ, on public display since December 2014. |
