Biography | Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1927. U.S. Navy veteran, V-5 program and USS Chilton. Former pro bowler and pro baseball umpire. Son and grandson U.S. Naval Academy graduates. Served five years on Minnesota Board of Volunteers of America to benefit one million needy people annually. Co-founded Westbrook Village Sheriff’s Posse in Peoria and has volunteered over 6,000 hours with the Posse. Volunteered over 11 years—2,500 hours during baseball spring training at Peoria Sports Complex helping raise funds for numerous charities. Following the fall of Saigon in 1975, fostered five teenage Vietnamese boys who had escaped into successful lives in America. Past Potentate of Zuhrah Shrine and active in EI Zaribah Shrine in Phoenix; founded Westbrook Village Shrine Club to benefit Shriner’s Hospitals for children. Continues volunteering for Valley charitable and civic endeavors. |
