Biography | (1940-2010) Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1940. Entered U.S. Navy in 1960, trained as Corpsman, attached to U.S. Marines in Vietnam. Appointed as first Command Master Chief for Naval Medical Clinic Commands, San Diego, and European Region. Retired in 1990 with rank of Command Master Chief. Began civilian career as a teacher for Apollo High School NJROTC program. Served as Glendale District coordinator for National Conference for Community and Justice program to nurture leadership skills and respect for diversity. Was faculty sponsor for SADD, Apollo Diversity Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Apollo Ambassador Club, and instructor for Naval Education and Training Command Regional Leadership Academy. Affiliated with Promise Keepers, Stephen Ministry Program; serves on Elder Board of Trinity Bible Church. Life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, mentor for Project Challenge, and a regular volunteer at the Phoenix VA Medical Center. |
