Born in Auburn, New York in 1945, Thom Meaker was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry Officer, USMC in 1968, with service in the 3rd Marine Division, Republic of Vietnam. Thom then partnered with his father in a printing company in Phoenix where he became a master printer. Thom’s volunteer achievements include serving 10 years on the VA Veterans Day Parade Committee including supporting the Veterans Medical Leadership Council from its beginning in 1999; Parade Chairman in 2001 and 2002, and donating in-kind printing donations exceeding $50,000. For 15 years Thom supported the Phoenix Active 20-30 organization which improves the quality of children’s lives in Phoenix by sponsoring events and raising funds. For 24 years Thom Meaker supported the Wildest Club in Town wildlife conservation organization which raised more than $250,000 for the Phoenix Zoo.
