Biography | Richard G. “Dick” Neuheisel was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 1936. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and its College of Law. He served as Captain, Judge Advocate Corps, US Army, and was released in 1965. He taught law classes at Arizona State University for 16 years. He was the co-founder and president of Tempe Sister City organization (TSC) in 1971. The Tempe Sister City program was recognized as the “Finest Sister City Program in America” and the organization has sponsored more than 800 student exchanges, 200 teacher exchanges and dozens of private exchanges with Tempe’s sister cities…now numbering eight. TSC has provided humanitarian aid such as wheelchairs, medical and school supplies, and has funded seven drinking water wells in Timbuktu, Mali, sister city since 1991. He is the past National President of Sister Cities International and has represented America in 120countries. He is the Past President of Tempe Sports Authority and created the Courage Awards program. |
