Biography

Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1959, Paul Smiley served in the US Air Force for 25 years, retiring as a Master Air Battle Manager with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  Paul is the Founder and President of Sonoran Technology and Professional Services, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that specializes in flight training, air operations support, and information technology. An active member of the Archer-Ragsdale Arizona Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated, Paul works closely with the Chapter’s Youth Committee which operates a week-long and a year-long Aerospace Career Education (ACE) Academy program for youth.  In honor of Tuskegee Airmen Robert Ashby and Asa Herring, Paul established two scholarships for college-bound high school seniors.  An avid supporter of higher education, Paul Smiley serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board, Arizona State University New College; and the Estrella Mountain Community College President’s Advisory Council.
