Biography | (1927-2017) Born in Tucson, Arizona in 1927. Enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1944, with service until December 1946. While serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Joe Foss Institute, enlisted the help of veterans nationally to teach over one million students about patriotism, public service, integrity, and American freedoms. Donated funds to provide Joe Foss Institute scholarships. As the owner of Shamrock Foods, the largest dairy in Arizona and the ninth largest food service company nationally, he supports more than 80 non-profit, charitable, community and business organizations every year – and donates more than 80,000 pounds of food every month. Is an active member of the University of Arizona Business School, Goldwater Institute, Valley Presbyterian Church, and the Phoenix Irish Cultural Center where he helped create a state-of-the-art Irish Library. |
