Born in Rehoboth, New Mexico in 1968, Mitchell Kalauli served in the Utah Army National Guard, including deployment to Germany in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. A member of the Arizona State Bar, he served as Moccasin Precinct Justice of the Peace, Chief Judge for the Kaibab Paiute Tribe, and City Magistrate for Colorado City and Fredonia in northern Arizona. A Magistrate for Lake Havasu City since 2011, Judge Kalauli was instrumental in establishing the first rural Veterans Treatment Court in Arizona in 2013, as well as mentoring officials in Kingman, Bullhead City, and La Paz County to establish their Veterans Courts. Judge Mitch Kalauli was instrumental in establishing the Lake Havasu City Veteran’s Resource Team being used as a model for veteran’s organization collaboration in rural Arizona communities.
