Biography | (1923-2008) Born in New York, New York, in 1923. Enlisted Army Air Corps following Pearl Harbor. Trained as navigator, shot down over Germany, held as prisoner of war for one year. Retired from U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1968 with rank of Major. Completed New York Police Academy in 1946 and served with NYPD for twenty years. Relocated to Scottsdale and served 22 years with the Scottsdale Police Department. Thirty year member of Scottsdale Papago Rotary Club, President 1979; active in Reserve Officers Association, Chapter President, 1985; Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion; Disabled American Veterans; Air Force Association; and Military Officers Association of America. Continues to tutor math at Navajo Elementary School several days a week. Awarded 2004 Frances Young Unsung Hero’s award for continued service to the community. |
