| Biography | Born in Pensacola, Florida in 1959, Kathy Lowrey Gallowitz served 29 years in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse and public affairs officer, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel in 2016. Her civilian career: Founder, Buckeye Sports and Orthopedics; CEO, Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce; President, Vanguard Veteran, LLC; and Consultant, Arizona Coalition for Military Families Be Connected Faith Network. While building Vanguard Veteran to support employers hiring and retaining veterans, Kathy advocated for pro-military employment legislation, trained faith leaders to create military ministries, and educated economic development professionals on military hiring. She founded the military ministry VetConnect, co-founded Women Who Lead, advised business leaders on veteran hiring, designed a Chamber of Commerce military transition program and Veteran Champion awards, and served on Arizona’s inaugural Veteran Caucus Board.
