Biography | Juan Salas, born in 1948 in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico, served in the US Marine Corps Reserves from 1968 to 1974. He graduated first in his Missile Technician class and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant (E-6). After retiring as a High-Tech Executive, and Mortgage Loan Officer, Juan dedicated himself to community service. From 2017 to 2022, he volunteered with the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce, helping to shape the city’s future. From 2020 to 2022, he served on the Coolidge Transit Advisory Committee during the critical COVID pandemic. An extremely active member of DAV Chapter 36 Pinal County for over 12 years, Juan Salas has volunteered over 5,000 hours, modernizing the Chapter, submitting veterans’ claims, renovating two buildings including a Veterans Museum, and managing the chapter’s finances as Treasurer.
