Biography | (1943-1998) Assigned to Arizona shortly after joining the U.S. Air Force. Retired to Phoenix after 23 years of service. A past officer for AMVETS at post, state, and national levels, he was most concerned with the welfare of needy families. He organized the veterans in the South Central Phoenix neighborhood to establish a program to assist families that needed food through a local church. Instrumental in raising neighborhood awareness of patriotic holidays, arranging festive events with food and beverages for all, and leading discussions about the purpose of the holiday. Supported a forum in the community for veterans to voice their concerns. His actions continue to be carried out in the veterans’ community in South Central Phoenix. |
