Biography

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1961, Hal Pittman served 29 years in the US Navy. His final assignment was as Deputy Chief of Staff for US/NATO in Afghanistan, where he retired as a Rear Admiral in 2012.

From 2014 to 2019, Hal was Director of External Communications at Arizona Public Service Company, and in 2019 he became APS’s first Director of Military and Veteran Engagement.

Hal continues to serve the veteran community through non-profit engagement, as Founding Chairman of the Arizona Corporate Council on Veterans Careers, a business coalition creating workforce development opportunities for Arizona veterans, and as Founding President of Veterans in Energy, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit which provides training and professional development for veterans in the utility industry. In 2019, Hal Pittman received the Arizona Governor’s Lifetime Community Service Award.
