Biography | (1920-2014) Born in Oakes, North Dakota, in 1920. Served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1942 to 1945. Came to Arizona in 1945 where he became a pioneer in refrigerated cooling with Climate Control, Inc. Served as president of Phoenix 20-30 Club #99 in 1951 and as Big Chief of the Phoenix Thunderbirds in 1961. President of Kiva Club (1963), Camelback Kiwanis Club (1969), and Board of Governors, Moon Valley Country Club (1973). Served with the downtown Phoenix branch of the YMCA and with the Phoenix Building & Safety Advisory Board. Chairman of Charter Government Committee in 1973, and became Vice Mayor of Phoenix, 1970-71. Other community involvement includes Mechanical Contractors Association of America; Board of Directors, First Federal Savings & Loan; Arizona State University Productivity in Industry Committee; the Arizona Safety Association; and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. |
