Biography

Born in Irvington, New Jersey in 1946, George Van de Langeryt served in the Marine Corps for five years, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and medically retired in 1970. His civilian career included process systems engineering and international marketing. George has supported, and advocated for, veterans and their families by serving in many leadership positions:   Commandant of the Surprise Marine Corps League; Commander Northwest Valley Veterans Association; Director and Secretary/Treasurer of the Veterans Memorial Hall, Inc.; Finance Officer, Past Commander, Boys State Chair of American Legion Post 96; Charter member, Legion Riders Chapter 96; Charter member, Surprise Military Order of Devil Dogs; Treasurer, Hassayampa Voiture 1154 of the 40&8, Treasurer of DAV Chapter 24, and Chairman of the Surprise Disability Advisory Commission. In addition, George has been an active member of the Surprise Chamber of Commerce.
