Biography | George B. Meegan was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1937. He is a Captain, United States Marine Corps, retired. George dedicates his time to patriotism and youth. He established the Chandler Mustangs Young Marines in 2001. As Commanding Officer, Grand Canyon Regiment, he established and supervised the Regional Leadership School at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. He is credited with the development and training of an additional nine Young Marine units in Arizona as well as the establishment of an Annual Comfort Gift Program for the Veterans Administration Medical Center and State Veteran Home. As Past Distinguished Club President of Kiwanis International, he volunteers his time reading to, and teaching mathematics at an elementary school. He is a Member of the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Marine Mustangs Association, the Military Officers Association of America, and the 1st and 2nd Marine Division Associations.
