Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1942, Dan Tillmans served in the U.S. Army for two years, stateside duty only but proud of his “11 Bravo” designation during Vietnam. Since 1999 Dan continues to be a leader in The American Legion Post 6, Prescott, including service as Post Commander and current Senior Vice Commander. From 2006 to the present time, Dan, as Captain of the award-winning Post 6 Honor Guard, has donated over 13,000 volunteer hours, rendering military honors at over 3,000 funerals. His Post 6 Color Guard is very active in the community, making frequent visits to senior citizens to let them know they are appreciated. Serving as liaison between the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and the veterans organizations in the Prescott area, Dan is effective and successful in advocating for veterans’ issues in the area.
