| Biography | Born in Chicago, IL in 1958, Carl Forkner served 28 years as a Naval Flight Officer and Surface Warfare Officer through multiple conflicts, retiring as Commander in 2011. His civilian career included special education, corporate leadership, and research. His civic accomplishments include Boy Scout Leader; Dementia Friends Champion; Member, Board of Directors of Resurrection Street Ministry serving homeless and underserved veterans; and Chair, Mesa Chamber Veterans Program. As the Adjutant/CEO of DAV Department of Arizona, Past Commander of DAV East Valley Chapter 8, and Life Member of The American Legion Post 26, VFW Post 1760, AMVETS, The Navy League, MOAA, and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Carl advocates for veterans with hard work and dedication. Carl Forkner is an outstanding leader who exemplifies honor, courage, and commitment to his community and its residents and veterans. |
