Sustaining injuries from an explosive device in Iraq in 2007, Brian medically retired in 2011. He implemented a plan for himself involving yoga, equine therapy, fly fishing, and nature trips, and realized these activities could work for other struggling veterans. In 2012 Brian founded Honor House, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a complete transitional package that utilizes community resources to meet the therapeutic and transitional challenges of combat veterans.
