(1927-2013) Born in Douglas, Arizona in 1927. Enlisted U.S. Navy, 1944–46; served in U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, 1948–50; enlisted U.S. Army Reserve 1950; active duty commissioned 1962. Served multiple tours in Vietnam, retired USA Colonel 1977. Served as DIA Defense Attaché in El Salvador and participated in the rescue of 200 Salvadoran and 25 American hostages. Elected Mayor of City of Douglas 1978, State Liquor Board Superintendent 1986. Active in party politics, serves as Precinct Committeeman. Active member of Military Order of the Purple Heart, 2005 Department Commander. Member of American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the World Wars, AMVETS, 82nd Airborne Division Association, Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.
