Biography | Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1918. Active duty, U.S. Army, 1942-1946, Private First Class. Civilian career was in supply work. As President of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Elizabeth Seton Conference, led the Society’s efforts in food drives, food distribution, clothing and recyclable drives (22 tons), home visits and fund raising. Raised $85,000 in support of the National World War II Memorial Campaign in Washington D.C. as well as funds for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Visitors Center Project. As Service Officer for Disabled American Veterans Star Chapter 24, Sun City, 1976-2006, advocated for veterans by developing their claim packages. As a member of the DAV for 63 years, participated in the Forget-Me-Not drive and also served as Chaplain for 40 years. As current Chaplain (15 years) for Chapter 422, Military Order of the Purple Heart, he continues to look after veterans and raise funds. |
