Biography

Born in Tallahassee, Florida in 1948. US Army 5th Special Forces Group veteran with service in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia (1967-1969). Civilian background – Finance, Banking, Real Estate, and Security. Served as a civilian in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2003 to 2008. Active in numerous community and Veteran organizations: Tempe Police Citizens Review Board, the Tempe Municipal Arts Commission, Co-founder, Chairperson, and Board Member of NewTown Community Development Corporation, an affordable housing enterprise; Founder & President of the Arizona Veterans & Military Leadership Alliance; cofounder and board member of ASU Alumni Association – Veterans Chapter; Member – Board of Directors for the Veterans Hertitage Project; Cochair of the City of Mesa Veterans Task Force, cofounder – Boots for Our Troops; Actively led the effort to construct the Veterans Memorial – Tempe. Member: Special Forces Association, Special Operations Association, MIKE FORCE Association, and Save the Montagnard People, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America.
