Biography

(1902-1996) Born of homesteading parents in Oklahoma, moved to Arizona in 1938. Served two years in the Women’s Army Corps during WWII. Member of Arizona Legislature. Sponsored numerous speakers’ bureaus and presentations about citizenship and Americanism. Developed “Have Flag – Will Fly” program through Arizona Federation of Women’s Clubs that was adopted nationally. Originated and was first president of Metropolitan Republican Women of Phoenix. Past state president of Business and Professional Women’s Club, commander of Hazel Morton Post of American Legion, local and national treasurer of Goodwill Auxiliary, and state women’s chairman for U.S. Savings Bonds.
