The 2018 Copper Eagle Award will be presented to Snell and Wilmer LLC, a valley business law firm. As a long established and respected firm, they continually demonstrate their commitment to business excellence, philanthropy and veterans.
They regularly sponsor events and assist other organizations by providing financial support and volunteer help in support of a wider range of events. Among them are such notables as “Honoring Arizona’s Veterans” during the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundations, Toys for Tots, the Wounded Warriors, as well as the renowned “Veterans Heritage Project”. They support the “Arizona StandDown” an annual event which provides on the spot legal services to at-risk veterans by purging unresolved traffic tickets and violations in other states, or by setting up small payment plans with debt collections, child support plans, and by working to resolve assault cases, and by arranged community service hours for veterans to expedite closure of probation terms.
Snell and Wilmer attained a unique achievement in 2015 when, with over 2,950 nominations under consideration, The U.S. Department of Defense selected Snell and Wilmer LLC to receive the Employer Support “Freedom Award”, one of only 15 honorees to receive the award that year. The “Freedom Award” is the highest recognition given by the United States Government to employers for extraordinary support of their employees who also serve in the Guard and Reserve.
Snell and Wilmer seek to improve the well-being of veterans, their own military service member employees, and continuously contribute for the betterment of our communities through their vision and philanthropic practices.
