Biography

Born in Dubuque, Iowa in 1949, Bill Beecher served in the US Army Infantry and as a helicopter pilot for 30 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Bill’s civilian career included serving as a Safety Officer at Fort Huachuca and Kosovo. He continues to serve as a leader within the DAV, the Greater Sierra Vista United Veterans Council, and especially the VVA where, as Chapter President, Bill spearheaded a variety of veteran-oriented community activities such as the annual Sierra Vista Commemoration of the Vietnam War, Vietnam War 50th Commemoratives, and increased the Chapter’s membership from 65 to 125 members. Bill helps veterans file their VA claims and works on disabled veterans’ home repairs and yard cleanup. Bill Beecher is a go-to guy who is focused on making Sierra Vista a better place to live.
