Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1937, Tim Day served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Field Artillery Officer on active duty 1959-1962. Tim’s civilian career included leadership positions at General Host Corporation and Cudahy Foods Company. In 1981 Tim founded Bar-S Foods Co. and served as President and CEO until 2012, and then as non-executive Chairman of the Board until 2017. In 1997 Tim Day established the Timothy T. Day Foundation, which has contributed over $42 million to worthy causes including over $26 million to Marine Corps-related organizations such as the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, the Semper Fi and America’s Fund, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Marine Corps University Foundation, the Marine Corps Association Foundation, and fellowships at Harvard Business School for Marine officers.
