Biography | (1921-2003) Born in Tallahassee, Florida. Served in U.S. Army. Retired in 1973 as Brigadier General. Introduced “living history” education with costumed volunteers to Maricopa County schoolchildren in 1993 through Phoenix Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. Program now has 50 volunteers, reaches 25,000 annually. Served two terms in Arizona State Legislature, 1989-1993. Instrumental in raising $1 million for Sun City West Community Services Building. Formed Sun City West Thrift Shop to support Sun Health hospitals. Founding Director and President of Sun City West Foundation, Inc., to support non-profit, charitable organizations. Daily News-Sun “Man of the Year” Sun City West for outstanding service to community. President, Sun City West Sunrise Lions Club and Leader, Stonecroft Bible Study Group of Sun City West. Participated in numerous veterans organizations such as Military Order of the World Wars and Military Officers Association of America. |
