Born in Wymore, Nebraska in 1934, Rose Mary Lloyd served in the Women’s Army Corps, 1954 to 1956, as a Specialist 3 stenographer. In 2005 Rose Mary established Scrap Happy Quilters in Mesa, where under her leadership, over 17,000 quilts have been donated to the AZ Blankets 4 Kids organization which go to hospitals, foster care facilities, first responders and other organizations serving Valley children. Over 155 quilts have been donated to residents at the Phoenix Arizona State Veteran Home. Rose Mary supports the Women Veteran Section, Maricopa County StandDowns, with donations of knitted hats, personal item bags, and hygiene items. Rose Mary Lloyd is an active member of Women’s Army Corps Veterans’ Association-Army Women United and Lifetime Member of VFW Post 7968 Auxiliary in Apache Junction.
