Biography | (1920-2004) Born in Brooklyn, New York. Veteran of U.S. Army Air Force. Became a licensed Ham Radio Operator in order to establish a Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS) in his own home. Recognized by Korean War Veterans Association and Vietnam Veterans of America for his contributions enabling soldiers overseas to communicate with their loved ones at home during both conflicts. Secured commitment from several airline companies to install a Chapel of All Faiths at LaGuardia Airport for traveling military personnel and their families to worship. As a volunteer instructor with the American Red Cross, taught Rescue and First Aid procedures to various civic and defense organizations for over 25 years. Active supporter of American Legion and its programs for over 50 years. Organized numerous blood drives during times of crisis for our troops, and continued to work tirelessly to help maintain a viable and strong VA system. Recognized by Disabled American Veterans for his efforts. |
