Biography

(1948-2020) Born in Decatur, Illinois in 1948, Michael “Mike” Ferguson served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and despite severe combat injuries in Vietnam, Mike became the driving force behind establishing the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of Arizona Charities. During his tenure as Chairman, Mike, through his efforts, secured the donations of five mobile homes and three vehicles. Mike’s efforts have raised over $150,000 to assist Arizona veterans through the Apache Junction Community Veterans Center where he is the Founder and Director. Mike is the current Service Officer, and Chair of the Veterans and Military Assistance Program for the VFW Dept of Arizona. An active member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, AMVETS, and Vietnam Veterans of America, Mike is firmly committed to advocating for veterans and their families.
