Biography

Born at the US Army Hospital in Munich, Germany in 1960, Linda Lyon served 22 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a Colonel in 2007 as the Mission Support Group Commander at then-Andrews AFB, Maryland. She then served in senior contract positions at the Department of Energy and Homeland Security. Linda’s civic accomplishments in Arizona include raising over $50,000 for Tucson’s LGBT Community Center. She also served 12 years on the Oracle School District Governing Board, spearheading two successful override elections and a bond election which provided $13.2 million for critical improvements. Additionally, Linda Lyon advocated for public education as a Board member and President of the Arizona School Boards Association Board of Directors, and co-established the Oracle Schools Foundation, which has raised over $800,000 for free preschool and other academic supports.
