Biography | Lawn R. Griffiths was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1946. He served in the Peace Corps and in the United States Army before attaining several degrees in journalism. Since leaving the East Valley Tribune, he has become a freelance writer for the Arizona Republic. Lawn has served as a Red Cross volunteer for eleven years and has led their Services to Military Families. He is a member of Tempe Kiwanis, the Tempe Community Council, Tempe Community Action Agency and the Tempe Salvation Army Advisory Board. Lawn earned Tempe’s Don Carlos Humanitarian Award, an Outstanding Citizen Leadership Award, the Arizona Golden Rule Award, the Clara Barton Award, and the Kiwanis George Hixson Fellow Award. He is a Four-time Kiwanian of the Year recipient. He is a Meals on Wheels volunteer and delivers water to desert for Humane Borders. |
