Biography | (1922-2012) Born in Ajo, Arizona, in 1922. Served in U.S. Army, 1942-45, WWII; Arizona National Guard, 1947-48; active duty 1948-65, 70th Armor Regiment, Korea. Recruited and organized a National Guard Company in Ajo in 1948, recruiting 60 men in one month. Graduated from West Virginia State College with Bachelor of Arts; Juris Doctor, Blackstone School of Law; Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from University of Utah. Taught in various colleges and universities. Awarded Order of Don Quijote for “Outstanding Achievement in Teaching Excellence and Hispanic Scholarship.” Decreed “Laureate Man of Letters;” commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor of Kentucky; named Honorary Citizen, Grace-Hollogne, Belgium. Active in Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Volunteers at Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott. Widely published in poetry and Hispanic folklore. |
