| Biography | Born in Riverside, California in 1948, Cy Bassett served in the US Army for six years, including combat duty in Vietnam from 1968-1970 as a Reconnaissance Team Leader. Serving as Vice President of the 173rd Airborne Brigade/Arizona Sky Soldiers for the last 20 years, Cy is also active with The American Legion Post 44 in Scottsdale. Cy’s community service includes helping to raise thousands of dollars supporting the United Way War on Weekend Childhood Hunger program; and supporting the Alliance Defending Freedom legal organization which protects religious freedom and free speech. Cy advocates for veterans by visiting veterans receiving care at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and at the Arizona State Veteran Home Phoenix; and by assisting veterans at the annual Maricopa County StandDowns. Cy Bassett works hard at recruiting other volunteers; he is a force multiplier. |
