Born in Salina, Kansas in 1934. Served U.S. Army 1953–56, reenlisted in 1960 retired in 1977 with rank of Master Sergeant, served in Vietnam. Assisted in establishing a drug intervention program for the 80th Personnel Company. US Army JROTC instructor for Phoenix High School District until assigned as Administrative NCO for Army Strategic Communications in Alaska, and J-2 Support Office for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Returned to Phoenix and continued work in JROTC, inspiring cadets to continue their education. Active in American Legion Baseball and has served as Post Adjutant for 10 years in Glendale; was named State Legionnaire of the year in 2006. Member of the Legion Honor Guard to provide final services at the National Memorial and local cemeteries. Serves on the Heart for the City Foundation for needy families in Glendale.
