Biography

Born in Spring Grove, Minnesota in 1949. Active duty US Army Courier Service, 1973-1976. After leaving the Army, Jeff served as the Assistant Director for the Veterans Employment and Training Service, University of Minnesota. Jeff also served as a Veteran Benefits Counselor. In 1982 he was appointed by the Governor to the position of Deputy Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2000 he was appointed Commissioner. After retiring in 2004, he continued his quest to help veterans and their families through the American Legion, at both Department and National levels. Currently, he is the National Commander’s Representative on the National Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Commission. In 2009, he was appointed by Governor Brewer to the Arizona Veterans’ Service Advisory Commission and has served as their Chairman.
