Biography

(1918-2008) Born in Seymour, Indiana, in 1918. Served in U.S. Navy. Active church member as Bible school teacher and on board of directors. Post Honor Guard Chaplain for American Legion Post 36 in Tucson for 30 years, presiding over more than 2,000 services to honor fallen Veterans. Served as National Aumonier (Chaplain) for The American Legion honor society (The Forty & Eight) in 1991 and continues to serve the local chapter. Long time volunteer with Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, logging over 7,000 hours assisting patients and families and making home visits to comrades bedridden or incapacitated. Recognized with a 4,000 hour community service pin and VA Health Care System Patient Carnival Committee Award for his many contributions to Health Care System programs. Continues to support numerous fund raiser and patient programs for veterans in the Tucson area.
