Biography

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1944. Captain, US Army Nurse Corps, 1964-1977; served in Vietnam. Commander, US Public Health Service (Phoenix Area Indian Health Service, Assistant Chief, Hospitals and Clinics for 10 reservations, 1987-1994); Retired, 1994. Resident of Peoria, Arizona. Over 46 years of volunteer service to the Boy Scouts of America at local, Regional and National levels, in multiple leadership positions; currently an Assistant Council Commissioner. Professional nurse volunteer at nine National Scout Jamborees and fifteen other national scout events. Dan served on two Arizona Department of Health Services rules making task forces addressing hospital licensure and neonate testing. Since 1996, Dan has served as a member of the (AZDHS) Arizona Diabetes Coalition to promote community education and self-care for persons with diabetes and its Arizona Diabetes Control Council.
