Biography

(1923-2022) Born in Krosno, Poland in 1923. Active duty, US Army Medical Corps, 1952-1955. In 1939 Alexander’s family was captured by the Nazi forces. Only Alexander survived the concentration camps. After WWII he attended medical school, emigrating to the USA where he completed his residency. Alexander is a member of the Jewish War Veterans and has spoken to several hundred organizations including many veterans groups, immigration and naturalization ceremonies, senior care centers, Rotary, Kiwanis, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, and schools about his youth and experiences during World War II in the concentration camps. He served on the Jewish Free Loan’s Board of Directors. Alexander has written two books, Holocaust Memoirs “Be a Mensch” and Surviving the Holocaust in Siberia – The Diary of Pearl Minz.
