PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy New Year to Society members! You are all invited to attend our 10 January Meeting at the Arizona State Veteran Home in Phoenix at 4141 North S. Herrera Way (formally North 3rd St.), Phoenix, AZ 85012. The meeting will start at 1000 and likely end by 1200. This is a good opportunity for members to find out more about the Society, especially newly inducted members. The agenda includes the installation of new Society board members.

GALA UPDATE
The Patriotic Gala is an event to celebrate the recognition of non-military individuals and private institutions whose actions have contributed significantly to the benefit and well-being of our military, our veterans, their families and survivors. Arizona high school seniors will be presented scholarships acknowledging their academic achievements, patriotism and service to their country and community. Military veteran students who are furthering their education will be presented with scholarships in recognition of their service. Red Rock News Recognizes Harvey Bershader.
Larry McKim (Class of 2011) is the incoming Vice-Chairman of the Greater Sierra Vista United Veterans Council. Positions of leadership on the Council are designated by organizations rather than individuals. Larry will represent the Cochise County Chapter of the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society. Larry was one of the founders of the Council years ago. He also has a long history of active service.
