Born in Muscatine, Iowa in 1949, Mike Russell served in the US Army including service in Vietnam for two years, retiring as a Sergeant. Mike worked with thousands of veterans through counseling as a Veterans Rep-resentative in Illinois. As the former owner of the Heroes Pub and Grub restaurant in Glendale, Mike sponsored many events to raise awareness and financial support benefitting veterans. He currently supports the An¬nual Glendale Stand Up Veterans Project as its Food Committee Coordi¬nator. As a Life Member of MOPH, VFW, and The American Legion, Mike has raised thousands of dollars for different programs which assist veterans with education, employment, medical services, and transportation to medical facilities. Mike Russell has volunteered hundreds of hours visiting veterans at the State Veteran Home Phoenix, including taking the veterans fishing.
