Biography

Born in 1940, entered U.S. Navy at New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1959. Retired as Lieutenant Commander in 1981 with over 22 years of service. Immediately following retirement, took over the Naval Junior ROTC Program at Apollo High School, Glendale, Arizona. Within 12 months assumed position of Senior Naval Science Instructor in Arizona, quickly becoming known as “Mr. Navy” in the state. For 20 years he helped an estimated 7,000 young men and women to better themselves, improve their communities, and to take aim at goals. His NJROTC Cadets actively participated in blood drives, fund raisers for needy families, the Westside Food Bank, Adopt-a-Family (every Christmas and Thanksgiving), and state and national occasions where it was appropriate for Color Guards to participate. Active as a Life Member in The Retired Officers Association as Chapter Secretary and newsletter editor, DAV, and Military Order of the World Wars Sun Cities Chapter.
