Biography

Born in Corning, New York in 1954. Active duty, USA, medical corpsman1972-1978; Virginia Air National Guard, Physician Assistant 1988-1998. In 1978 Steve joined the Department of Veterans Affairs, treating, counseling and advocating for veterans. In 2002 he was instrumental in reducing waiting time for an orthopedic appointment from 6 months to 7 days. After retiring from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Steve became involved in the Green Valley Arizona Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Chapter. As President he established a Scholarship and Military Assistance Fund which has administered $14,000 in scholarships to JROTC cadets; donated 3000 pounds of food and over $19,000 of financial assistance to military families in the Tucson area. He has been selected to be the Vice President of the MOAA State Council.
