Biography

(1932 – 2012) Born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1932. Brigadier General, US Army, Retired 1985. Was a resident of, and rancher in, Hereford, Arizona. A leader and mentor to adults and young people alike, Bud served as Vice President and President of the Huachuca Museum Society, 1986-1990. He also served as President of the Fort Huachuca Historical Society, and as Director, US Army Military Intelligence Museum, Fort Huachuca, 1988-1990. For fifteen years, Bud organized and led the Palominos Unorganized Parade twice a year. A talented cowboy poet, he spoke to classes of schoolchildren and taught them how to write poetry. Bud served as Co-Chair of the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering, Sierra Vista, Arizona, and shaped it into one of the top ten cowboy and music gatherings in the US and Canada.
