Biography

(1931-2010) Born in Tucson, Arizona 1931. Enlisted in Arizona Air National Guard in 1949. Transferred to 158th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, “Bushmasters,” Army National Guard. Retired in 1983 with the rank of Colonel. State Director of Civil Defense from 1983-89, responsible for coordination of maximum survivability in the event of nuclear attack. A log term volunteer for the Red Cross, he was awarded the Clara Barton Honor Award for Meritorious Volunteer Leadership in 1997. Active in the Military Order of the World Wars and is committed to youth leadership and patriotic education. Member of the American Legion, Association of the U.S. Army, and Elks.
