Biography

(1928-2014) Born in Colville, Washington in 1928, the late Pat Campbell enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1945, serving during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, until he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant in 1968. Pat was fondly known as “Gunny.” In 1969, he started his second career, Marine Corps JROTC Instructor at Tolleson Union High School. For 19 years he transformed over 6,000 high school students into future leaders of the community and the nation. Competing against all JROTC Units statewide, MCJROTC Tolleson won 20 State Championships and was known as the top MCJROTC Unit nationwide. From 1998 to 2012, Gunny volunteered at the Retired Affairs Office, Navy Operational Support Center, Luke AFB, helping sailors resolve all types of questions. Gunny Campbell lived his life dedicated to the service and well-being of all people.
