Biography

(1916 – 2008) Born in Glasgo, Connecticut in 1916. U S. Army veteran of World War II. Resident of Arizona since 1952. Served with Boy Scouts since 1930 in such leadership capacities as Commissioner, Leadership Training, Advancement Committee, and presently member of the Advisory Council of the Grand Canyon Council. Coordinated first University of Scouting to be held in the Theodore Roosevelt Council. Honored with the Boy Scouts Order of Merit, Silver Beaver, and Vigil Honor. Member of Saguaro Lions Club since 1957, holding many offices including president. Elected to the Eye-Bank Board in 1957, serving until being hired as full time administrator in 1974. Retired in 1983. Elected to Executive Board of the Eye-Bank Association of America, serving as president in 1974. Received Lions International President’s Award for outstanding work in Eye-Banking in 1975 and 1985. Continues to serve in veterans’ organizations as well as Lions Club activities.
