Biography

(1942-2014) Born in Clarkdale, Arizona in 1942, Manny Rodriguez enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and served with the 184th Chemical Platoon, 1st Calvary Division, Vietnam until 1967. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University, Manny served as a US History and Arizona History teacher for over 35 years, and Director of Adult Education for Yuma County. A disabled Vietnam veteran who joined the Vietnam Veterans of America, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Manny committed himself to helping veterans. He served as Department Commander, Arizona DAV for two years, and raised over 2 million dollars for the DAV. Manny’s life as a teacher and veteran is cherished by students and veterans alike.
