(1919 – 2015) Born in Fresno, California in 1919. Enlisted in U.S.. Army from Gila River Internment Center in Sacaton, Arizona, where his family had been re-located in 1942 and would remain until 1946. Past president of Japanese-American Citizens League. Frequent guest lecturer at the Arizona Historical Society. Conducts workshops on the history of the Internment Camps plus the Diversity of Race and Religions in our society. Has spent over 25 years as guest lecturer at Arizona high schools and universities on races and religions as well as the internment camps. Received four awards for training sessions on race relations among minorities conducted for Internal Revenue Service and Bureau of Land Management personnel. Taught Sunday School for 30 years and served on Board of Directors from 1949 until 2002 of Arizona Buddhist Temple. Served as Temple’s Board president nine times. Life member and active in Ira Hayes Post 84, American Legion. Served on Phoenix Ecumenical Council 1991-1992.
